I THINK the government can and must do more to educate people on proper waste disposal and recycling.
Some places in the Philippines are observed to be a giant trash pit and because of individual habit and the “don’t care” attitude, more money is being used when calamities such as floods come. Furthermore, it’s a huge health issue which concerns everyone and costs the government millions.
Educate! Educate! Educate! Educate the masses. Provide social (barangay) seminars in all levels of society.

As long as even muncipalities just lead their uncleaned waste water into rivers and the sea, people will also not care. It is anyway a philippine manner to just hide trash anywhere, What you can not see is not existing. Look at the many houses with with “wealthy” front sides and all their waste and garbage at the back. It’s not what and how you be, it is how you look….
Many western, european countries have strict rules, gaebage has to be separated into recycle and non-recycle, glass by color, metal, paper, compostible matter etc. And waste water will be cleaned up to drinkable quality before it can be lead to rivers. It is expensive, but avoids higher costs caused by all the dangerous effects of polluted waste and water. Harsh fines make discipline easier…. Here, in contrary, you can see water pumping stations where car wash, animals, garbage are the surrounding.

Magdalo group that occupied the Oakwood Premiere Hotel in Makati City on July 27, 2003 to call for the resignation of fake President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo over alleged rampant corruption in the government.
they’re getting rotten in jail because they speak out all the corruption she has been doing. If there is rule of law in the Philippines Gloria Arroyo, should be in jail for all the crimes she has done to the filipino people. SHE IS A THIEF.

In the early part of 20th century new york and chicago rivers are a dumps of anything including dead horses even human. Now they have it cleaned with trash, really clean and clear now it is replaced by unseen trash toxic waste.
Pasig river is both a dump for trash and toxic waste. What the hell is MMDA doing, Hello mr Fernando who wants to seat in Malacanang in 2010.

The biggest problem in our country is there is no accountability and that is why the corrupt ones continue to do what they do. We have to be accountable. We should at least show that those who committed violations to the law stand to be punished so that it will serve as a deterrent. Yes! but how? even the judiary who swear to uphole rule of law is not doing their job the suppose too. As we all can see it they’re only protecting the MAFIA’S in Malacanyang palace and their cronies!

The only dead river I know is our government of PGMA. With so much corruption, involuntary disappearances, lies, and cheating occuring within a span of her tenure as president, river of life among Ethnic Filipinos will not only rot, but would finally be dead.
Talking of pollution, the ethnic Filipinos has been and still are being exposed to pollution never before experience by this banana republic.
