REACTING to government’s call for the MILF to surrender Kato and Bravo, Murad said: “It is not logical for the GRP to tell us to surrender Commander Bravo and Commander Kato because they are not bound by Philippine laws.” How come Mr. Murad is saying that the MILF men are not “bound by Philippine laws?” Does this mean that when he goes to Malaysia, he does not use the Philippine passport or is he dreaming of pledging allegiance to Malaysia? Another question is: Is he anticipating of incorporating the Bangsamoro land into a federation with Malaysia? Wow, what an unfortunate page in our history had the MOA been pushed through. I think the Mr. Esperon would have been the national hero of the MILF men. Mr. Murad can migrate to Malaysia where he can be happy in his own right and forget dragging others to be with him.

Mr Abdul,
You should keep in my mind that If Muslims are being being tagged as criminals and terrorists by these days modern terror and violence its because Muslims are proudly claimed and shouted “praise to allah” everytime they commit barbaric crimes across the world.
Can you cite and incident where your so called christian and jewish terrorists shouted their religion after such a crime?
Remember those suicide hijackers of 9-11, how about those who bombed Madrid trains? and Palestinian suicide bombers who glorify Islam before detonating those bombs? Did you hear a christian praising Jesus Christ before making a crime? or a Jewish man holding the torah before detonating himself? how about these brutal crimes of Umbra kato and Bravo against innocent civilians in the name of their faith?
Now, can you blame the west for this wrong conception about Islam? You should blame people in your faith who continue to hijack Islam and involved peaceful muslims in their evil desires..

To Mr. Abdullah Maulana,
I understood as most Filipinos too, that part of Mindanao are populated by Moros and Muslims since time immemorial but it doesn’t mean the Republic of the Philippines had to break apart just because of cultural, social not even for religious reason.
No country in the 21st century with proper senses will allow that to happen except when Indians are forcibly partitioned by the British to paved the way for Muslim Pakistan.
The Moros was given the chance to govern themselves under the ARMM and Misuari was its first leader, but what they have done? Misuari just enriched himself and Muslim political clans continue perpetuating their dynasties through violence and corruption.
Mindanao is underdeveloped because of political warlordism, islamic militancy, and the existence of brutal terrorists groups like the MILF and MNLF who deceived the Moro people as their legitimate saviours.
The Philippines is from batanes to jolo, even to Sabah who was stolen by Malaysia and will never break apart!
No way to Moroland!!!

Let’s move forward to peace and prosperity and not blame what had happened in the past that we can no longer change. We need an honest to goodness peace and reconciliation here. Let us put aside anger and revenge.

In this new forum, we take another angle of vision on politics and insurgent war, government’s amelioration programs and even its peace-making efforts to invite concrete suggestions from our readers: What can Filipinos of goodwill do to help close the centuries-old gap between Muslims and Christians in the Philippines? We repeat: concrete suggestions will be the most helpful where actions speak louder than words across a long divide of miscommunication, misunderstanding and distrust.
This is an important step in putting forward the historical perspective and correcting present perceptions of our brother christian toward Filipino Muslim. This is done by
serious problems in understanding the multiple facets of the conflict and that we tend to bunch, to make the same decisions about the way Muslims are.
The traitorship of Christian brother during the Spanish era is unforgiving, where Christian from Luzon and Visayas sided with Spaniard colonizer. After the Spanish time, Philippine government is continuing in their effort to bring the Christian to Mindanao to enjoy the vast majority land. Hug by the high valuable and vast natural resources of Mindanao. Added by the coming of martial law, injustices were committed to Muslim Moro. It is not easy for us Bangsamoros to heal what our forefather bears during this period, we have suffered much alleviation from the Spanish to the Japanese and to the Americans and yet we suffered from out own brothers Christian from Luzon and Visayas who still cannot understand us.
We respectfully site some example of this:
1. The Christian author biases towards Muslim is unfolded. They still portrayed Muslim as a pirates and bandits. They cannot understand that Muslim fight for the right of the people to coloniazation whiles the writer (Christian) bow to these colonizers and yet Muslim is still the villain.
2. Bias media - It is the media of the West which has portrayed Islam to be something that is not. It must be stop the bigotry
It must stop the bigotry in the media by the
likes of Ramon Tulfo and Maximo Soliven and the blazig
headlines of “Muslim” Kidnapper or “Muslim Killer”
forgetting that the most famous “Filipino” Killer is
the “Christian” Marcos and most kidnappings happen in
Manila committed by “Christian” kidnappers and you
have the famous Filipino plunderer “Christian”
Estrada. It must compensate every Muslim that have
been victims of its official acts. It must prosecute
and put to jail every soldier who have committed human
rights violations against the Moros.
As explained earlier, there are three trends visible in the world as far as Islam is concerned. People are hateful of Islam, People are fearful of Islam, People are ignorant of Islam. Those who hate Islam come from right wing Christian and Zionist ranks. Those who are fearful of Islam come from extreme liberal ranks. Those who are ignorant come from the ranks of those academicians or media people who are still refusing to learn about the faith from direct sources. All three have developed a distorted the picture of Islam and Muslims. They try to fit every action of Muslims in this distorted picture. For instance, if they find a few Muslims engaged in violence, they would find its roots in the religion. However, if they find a few Christians o Jews involved in violence, they would not blame their religion for that.
In the US, some 400 people die every week in Gun violence. Yet no one in the media blames Christianity or Judaism for that. While the fact is that those who support Gun lobby in the country are primarily right wing Christians and Zionists.
I explained earlier that there are three main reasons for the prevailing negative attitudes about Islam.
1. Ignorance: Some people are really ignorant because they are either lazy or too pre occupied with other things to learn about Islam.
2. Hatefulness. There are people who hate Islam for what it is. They view Islam as a threat to their survival.
3. Fearfulness: There are those who genuinely fear that their lifestyle will be impacted once Islam becomes part of their life.
By going through the teachings of Islam, it is clear that such a religion has only come to benefit mankind not to destroy it. So why is there so much hatred for this noble religion in the West? The answer is simple, the media. It is the media of the West which has portrayed Islam to be something that is not. However, it is known by the heads of the media, that the likes of the PLO were not an Islamic organization, and that Shi’ites do not represent Islam. Yet such facts are never portrayed by a media which seeks to cover the truth of this religion. A number of years ago, when the Oklahoma City bomb went off, a headline in one of the British newspapers, ‘The Today’ summed up this attitude. With a picture of a fire fighter holding a dead child in his arms, the headline read: “In The Name Of Islam”, Time has often proven that this bigoted assumption was incorrect, as Timothy McVeigh, a right-wing radical now faces death penalty for the crime. The desire of such people to throw a veil over Islam is immense.
Whilst trying to destroy Islam through this instrument of the media, they clearly try to portray an image of themselves as being the oppressed people. Every year, we are reminded as to how many Jews perished under the Nazis in World War II. We are made to feel sorry for these same people who have gone on to commit so many crimes upon the Palestinian people. If this media was truly impartial, then why does it not tell about the extent of the Israeli bombardment and illegal occupation of Southern Lebanon and its people? And if this media really had nothing against the religion of Allah, then why does it not inform the people that everyday hundreds are entering the religion of Islam? Such things will never be highlighted in the Western media, simply because to do so would be against their interest.
I agree with you that we should try to alleviate the tension between us and we should remove any misunderstanding about Islam. This can be achieved however, by returning to the Divine fountain of these religions and purifying them from corruption. Both Muslim and Christians agree that religion should be used to call for peace, love and co-existence, not to slaughter innocent people.”

TO ANGUS
You said moros did not join filipinos fighting for philippine indipendence. that is one justification that national government should let us free because from the very begining we are different nation.
for your comments that we are not peace loving people. how would you react if i occupy part of your room forcibly and ask you for us to live peacefully? can you live peacefully in that situation?
Please open up your eyes of the mindanao situation and help your brother and sister moros live in peace…. our request is simply, we dont want to be part of the Philippine Republic and you probably do not like us. The area that we are claiming (the one delineated in MOA-AD) is an areas in mindanao dominated by Moros. nothing more, nothing less.
