I really admire the order imposed against cutting trees by Mayor Lim. Definitely, deforestation and land degradation are serious problems in our country, which explains the worst floods in Metro Manila during heavy rains. This act may decrease the effects of the natural calamities and if we do not act on this, perhaps in the next 10 years, illegal logging will be so rampant that the local and national government will not be able do anything to stop it. Although they may have millions of reasons for cutting the Mahogany and Narra trees, this is does not make it right. Illegal loggers should be punishable by law if the case becomes legitimized.

I fully admire Mayor Lim, THE LAW APPLIES TO ALL OTHERWISE NONE AT ALL. Except one left over Engineer Armando Andres of City Engineer Office.

4 long years and we are still waiting , Engr Andres and his people really made life hard for us when he knows we are “legally ” right.

4 long lost years ( that cannot be returned back ), since Sept of 2004 , of our wasted time and effort which if only they Engr Andres, Engr Disu and Engr Alampay only knows how to perform their ministerial jobs in accordance laws mandated to them.
I have high hope in our present good mayor.

Lauding Lim’s order to probe tree cutting.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
How could you laud Lim in probing tree cutting.
It happened right in front of his eyes.
In short, either he is not aware or he gave permit.
It is now a matter of finger pointing.
The point is those trees would not be cut unless there was a permit coming from the city hall, in short, mayor’s office.
The act of Lim is late.
Damage is done.
As our old folks used to say…
Aanhin pa ang damo, kung patay na ang kabayo.
Huli man daw at magaling, huli pa rin.
Or as madam pierre currie physic’s theory.. an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
As they say, may pera sa basura, may tabla at muwebles sa narra, pero balik baho sa manila, wala na ang narra.

After the lamp posts, the bridge railings, electric wires, now money also grows on trees. We dont have illegal loggers here. Only lax authorities. Where do we find the parks warden in this case?

for years Haiti are cutting their trees and when heavy rain comes, the island nation suffers a devastating floods, and this is already happening here.We should never let people whoever they are to just cut trees indiscriminately and left unfunished unless they can present one million and one reason to do so.

Wala!

4 long years lost productive life because the three belonging to the City of Manila twisted all legal logical facts and certified government documents and findings presented to them ( in law , our documents speaks for itself ). Without Mayor Lim, we would have lost our faith and trust in how the government should be runned.

these people are leftovers of the former mayor. The sad part is that they are so willing to put our lives in peril / jeopardy . Maybe our lives are dispensable to them.
The Law applies to all otherwise none to all. It means that the law does not discriminates.
The position paper they did in December 6,2004 is totally void of logic , against norms and illegally done.

Here a few of the official position paper the three -Engr alampay, Engr Disu and Engr andres of city of manila did
1. A public street can have no entrance or exist ( ingres / egres ) ???. Any grade schooler can tell you they are wrong. None seen in webster dictionary.
2. The effectivity of a law is before the enactment of the law ????????. After the enactment you’re exempted as per their definition ? That’s a dangerous president.
3. a firewall can have windows and doors ?????
4. When they requested for a legal opinion from DENR. Can they issue out a permit ( which gives my neighbor 60 days to submit the DENR report , parang may crystal ball, they knew first hand the report would be favorable to my neighbor ) even without the DENR opinion which had not yet release it’s final findings even as of today ????? What then happens to the permit ??? Null and void from the start ??????

May I suggest the three of them study cadastral act 2259 and its jurisprudence Santiago Isabela VS court of appeal. Please also study well the National Building code where their jobs are well defined in this code.
Please keep in mind. THE LAW APPLIES TO ALL OTHERWISE NONE TO ALL.

I would like to post a question to Engr Flordeliza Alampay ( former Manila Survey and Drafting chief ), engr Saturnino Disu ( former Manila Office of the Building Official ), engr Armando Andres ( present Manila City Engineer ) ,
if you exempt my neighbor from the different provisions of the National Building code, The civil code of the Philippines, The fire code of the Philippines, Zoning ordinance.
Can you possibly issue out an occupancy permit which states amongst other that all provisions of the National Building code has been fully complied with ?
Is this OXYMORON ? GOBBLEDYGOOK ?
Brief background : my neighbor warehouse building permit is dated August 2004. The enactment of the National Building Code is in 1979 ?
Question : Is my neighbor warehouse in a institutional zoning area covered by the existing related LAWS and ordinances ?
Even a no brainer like me will tell me something is dead wrong.
In what they had done, why on earth are you so willing to put our lives in peril ? ( roasted alive ).If they were in my shoes, how would they feel ?
Why is our lives so dispensable to them ? We have been requesting form them a Manila city Official written perpetual guarantee that if anything happens to us Manila will take full responsibility for their acts.
Due to the three’s position paper , our lot is now totally useless for we cannot physically occupy it. we also had request The Manila City Assessors Office for a refund of realty taxes paid since time imemorial and a helicopter to ferry us in in case they wanted to do an actual occular inspection.
Again, The Laws applies to all otherwise none to all. This is our creed and this helps me keep my trust and faith in the good Mayor Lim.
