I believe that Jun Lozada could run for President, so is Mang Pandoy and all the Juan de la Cruzes out there. It’s a constitutional right that every natural born Filipinos enjoy. On the premise that he is morally upright and unyielding, professor Alejandrino should think twice on endorsing Jun Lozada for presidency just because he is morally so. Is he really morally so? He who claims that he is a moralist is a Big No for me. This time is not the reign of the clergies and the papacy. We should be liberal in our choices and vote for people who could bring results rather than discuss morality in these modern times. Let the pope do his job and let the leaders do theirs. As George Bernard Shaw once said, “All progress depends upon the unreasonable man”. More so, we need a leader who thinks beyond the box. Beyond the norms and not a mediocre leader. Here, we define leaders as someone who talks the loudest. We need leaders who talks less and works more. We are tired of the trapos and the Catholic Church interfering the government. If professor Alejandrino wants a president that is without stain, then there would be no presidential candidate in the Philippines 2010.

If you’re tired with catholic church and moralist intereferring in running the goverment, I am also tired of your’re leaders who are corrupt, liberal minded but selfish, THE leader you’re talking about are manipulative, crocodile seating in the throne wearing coat and tie i’m really ashamed of your’re leader atleast JUN LOZADA HAS THE COURAGE TO EXPOSED THE WRONGDOING OF THE ADMINISTRATION AND WHO YOU WANT TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT? MIKE ARROYO?

Jun Lozada running for President? Well, yes he can. Yes, he has all the privilege to do so. But I will not, never, ever, in this lifetime, vote for him.
Imagine Jun Lozada being our president…
Sadly, I can’t.

Ordinary citizens who will run for any government position is already not laughable. Before, an ordinary juan dela cruz who wants to grab a government seat is usually disqualified and is labeled a nuissance candidate based on his personal wealth and political manpower. Today, as more and more corrupt politicians are identified and people are getting weary of them stealing all things visible, every candidate can now be considered as frontrunners for any government post.

The catholic church has not endorsed anyone for presidential candidates, only the sects do that. If the government is oppressing the people and corruption is rampant, we all rely on the catholic church to speak for us.
The problem with the country is corruption, its all corruption… mang pandoy can run for president if he can eradicate corruption, you dont need “philippines 2000″ like platform from the trapos to bring change and prosperity, its all basics… you remove corruption and the country prospers without even creating new laws and gimmicks.

lozada for president? alejandrino must be insane!
lozada is a liar, no different than the fellow crocs he is accusing of corruption.

Abraham Sampalocio’s last sentence which substantially states that up to now we have yet to find a prospective leader who will not be “without sin,” is well taken. I recall that during all the decades of my lifetime, there was no Filipino president who was somehow charged with an anomaly, one way or the other. And Mr. Jun Lozada, who I think merely did a calculated afterthought to gain fame, based on the facts & circumstances of his alleged abduction, could be no exception. Why is that?
Perhaps, if no journalist would do it, it would take Manolo Quezon to ame an in-depth study and to explain the genesis and development of corruption partly because of our electoral practices and certain provisions of our present constitution. I surmise the conclusion of a researcher would be: (a) do not allow polititicans to buy, nor let people sell, votes; and (b) elect a president who can make the country economically progressive & who can keep the coffers of government full, so that the government can pay salaries of elected officials, commensurate to their multifarious duties and responsibilities.

I conform with the the contributor’s comment.
Lozada while he rocked the country’s political arena at the start, in the end, Lozada became a mere puppy of so many groups with ambitions of power and fame in the Phils. He became a convenient utility of those who claims to be moralist and wants to have a share of the country’s leadership.
If only Lozada cedes to side with questionable groups, things in this country may have a different view today.

he is like arroyo and erap combined. evil and manipulator. i wish he could have just given his testimony and go away just like clarissa ocampo way back. now his intentions are so clear yet unfortunately, a few of our stupid countrymen won’t be able to see it.

You’re right. I am also thinking of running as independent in 2010. My top supporters say they will refund all my expenses until a president is proclaimed.
Juan Dela Cruz
…A president we need is someone who has not only the will to make things happen as he or she says but also has the records to show he/she has made the first right step…

I think it’s us who should change, and the politician are the reflection of our character in the society. If Cebu and Laguna are succesful in their Industrial, Commercial and Tourism contibution even without the help of Malacanang why other province can’t do that. The Cebuanos and Laguna people choose the right leaders who manage their resources rightfully. Imagine if all local executive of all provinces think like their leaders for sure progress is in our sight. GO CEBU ! GO LAGUNA ! Next time you vote……choose the right Governor, the right Congressman, the right Mayor…..for they are the one who can do more changes in our community and not the President of our country. Just observe and you will get the answer.

OH? Jun Lozada for President? I think its a such a “crazy’ idea. At least he has 1 vote from Mr. Raul. And that’s final.
Taga Sampaloc
Common folks, that’s hilarious. How can you even think of Lozada as being a presidential material just because he showed more “balls” than any of us combined?
He is outside the system like Martin Luther King who could only run his mouth and dream and change nothing.
While Lozada has driven the people mad by his tales of corruption, cover-up and kidnapping attempt, King had awaken the black by telling them they were unhappy because of discrimination, poor quality of life, and limited opportunity.
King’s dream of someday having a black president remains a dream to this day because Obama is not black, His ancestors are not descendant of a slave unlike the blacks.Obama is the african-american president.
No change, right? How is that? Well these two guys were both not holding political office then. They have no power to change anything.
You got to be inside the loop like Obama to change.
Do you think Moses could free the slaves from Egyptian bondage if he was not raised by the Pharaoh himself?
What about Lucifer? He too succeeded in tempting Adam & Eve to eat the forbidden fruit because he used to be an angel in the establishment.Let us not forget that Lucifer got his own kingdom after he reveled.
mang godo
Lozada for President, why not?
He has all the qualifications to run for president, anyway, it is only run, for sure he will not be elected.
Let’s get to the bottom of this.
First and foremost, Lozada is a Chinese.
His citizenship will be questioned.
He is not a natural born for his eyes are chinky and that means he is Chinese by blood and by birth.
Secondly, he is a confessed concubine for he fathered children out of wedlock. just like Erap who was booted out because of morality and we don’t want to repeat it again for the second time, for Erap will be mad as he is being copied by ponga, his comedic sidekick.
For sure, Jun is not supporting the kids he fathered out of nowhere as he said that he is living day to day that caused his children to drop out from La Salle.
He is dead beat dad as we don’t have strict law on alimony.
Thirdly, Lozada is a known corrupt public official with the pending cases against him and we don’t want him to be a precedent of a bad president.
In as much as Lozada is always surrounded by nuns, supported by priests and bishops, why not elect him not to Presidency but to Sainthood.
St.Jun, the patron saint of concubine, adulterer and corrupt that is trying to be good from bad to ugly, a patron saint for non believers that everything is possible in the Philipipines.

Pare Godo, if Mary Magdalene did not return to prostitution after her incounter with Jesus, then I think Jun deserves a second chance. Him for President? Why not Manny Pacquiao instead?

Si Jun Lozada na nga ba? May be. For as long as he is qualified under the constitution. Yes! Kung may hindi maganda sa nakaraan nya ay sa tingin ko’y binago na nya because he is morally commited for CHANGE. We need CHANGE in our society. Are you commited for CHANGE? How we can achieve CHANGE if you elect candidates who is not morally upright. The same people who were given the chance to serve not once but thrice but not. The valued president and real people’s servant has not come yet. May be you are the best economist or lawyers, Phd’s in town but it will not produce the best President of the nation. He might be successful president but not valued president if the people are still poor, graft and corruptions are rampant and no equality under the the judicial system. What is the common dinominator of them all - lack of moral governance. Kahit masama pinagtatakpan. All of our past presidents except for Cory Aquino for being a transition president and the rest are suposedly implementing presidents has failed to uplift the lives of every Filipino even an inch. For the past 18 years nag-improve ba? Note: Lives of families with OCW’s depend their life on outside economy not ours at ito ang ipinagyayabang ng gobyerno na nagbago ang buhay ng mga tao. Please remember EDSA 1 was happened base on moral crusade towards CHANGE. We need moral rearmament! We need more Jun Lozada. May be you don’t see Jun Lozada as President but we need Jun Lozada president.
LHB
On Jun Lozada’s……
“….. kung may hindi maganda sa nakaraan nya ay sa tingin ko’y binago na nya because he is morally commited for CHANGE.” and every Filipinos can do it too. Can you do it?
EDSA 1 was made based on moral crusade EDSA 2 was made on personal ambition. —ahb

while jun lozada can qualify to be a candidate i do not think that he CAN govern as president because he does not have what it takes to be a good president. but we can trust him to support a good president. he would be a great adjutant but not the general. he could be part of a team, but not the team leader or manager.
he admitted his own wrongdoing in the past having been part of those who rose from simple low-level corrupt govt employees to serious highlevel “tongpats” specialists. and we certainly appreciate his turnaround, awakened by circumstances and conscience. had romulo neri and mr. abalos made the decision as jun’s our country would be on the road to a true moral revival by this time .
june did our country a good favor with his whistleblowing. thank you jun.
but no, not for president.
Arcie Reyes
Ahh, with all due respect I think enough time is wasted on discussing Jun Lozada as President (???) Perhaps other and more credible or deserving persons should be discussed in this forum as presidential candidate. Jun Lozada for President is certainly a big joke unless you wanted a joke.
The joke is who is or are the more credible or deserving presidential candidate(s) worth considering?
It’s our political system that makes it difficult to find and support the right person. For me, being in the opposition or those who do not cater to the President’s wishes is not a good criteria. It isn’t a good measure or guarantee of future good leadership since it only means you belong to a different party opposed to the Administration. When they are in Malacanang already they would do the same or worst. And then we curse again!
A candidate should have integrity and good moral character. A person who has a track record in public service and can be trusted to serve. We have had enough of politicians and those do-nothing non-politicians. The problem is, if that kind of person is not sponsored by a political party, can he/she win? How can an independent candidate ever hope to win in the present political system? A “good” candidate would probably make a good President but what’s the probability of winning? It’s really a challenge.
I hope there is still hope. I can only say let’s pray for a miracle that God will give us a good leader because almost all of our problems comes from bad and corrupt leaders in the various levels of government. Finally, Not JUN LOZADA, PLEASE!
Thank you and God save our country.

You can put mickey mouse as president in 2010 and you will still have the same corrupt government.

Alejandrino who wrote that letter to the PDI suggesting Jun Lozada for president and likening him to Ninoy Arroyo must be suffering from myopic eyes besides mental stress for he could not see beyond the tip of his nose because he sees Lozada as his only hope for this country’s salvation. If everyone will share the same views that the country has run out of qualified citizens with unquestionable integrity then there is indeed no hope for this country. There’s an old adage that once a crook always a crook, but it is quite apparent the dark side of the whistle blower hardly matters to Alejandrino. To his credit, it is people like Alejandrino who give hope to the immorally fit to run for public office. No wonder a convicted plunderer has found the courage to run again for President.

Jun Lozada is a wasted hero. He ran to the wrong people for help, Had he sought redress and filed his case directly in court backed by the Sisiters and the Church, his story might have had a happier ending. He went to a pack of wolves who have all wanted to have a piece of Gloria’s flesh,, so JLo’s quest for justice was poliitically tainted, polluted, and derailed. “Sayang” eka nga ni Claire.

If Jun Lozada will always be emulated by organizations like ABS-CBN News team of Corina sanches and Faylon, Erap Estrada, Binay, Cory Aquino, Susan Roces, Black & White and the Communist Militant Group like Bayan Muna, Gabriela, etc…….Jun Lozada wishes will always end in the garbage shute.
Lozada should be choosing the kind personalities he is going with for him to lift his clean intentions.

EDSA I, in actuality, resulted from a failed power grab planned by Enrile, Honasan, et al and the People Power was the popular support that responded to the call of Cardinal Sin when the desperados holed up in the camps asked for help.
It was all political, had Marcos not discovered the plot and Enrile succeeded in taking over the government, there would be no People Power and no EDSA I; but a new martial law regime, possibly, under Enrile & Co.
wolfkiller
i disagree with mr.abraham, this country needs morality now more than ever, as without morality, everything else collapses, including the economy. morality should always be first.
LHB
Harry King (2/19th) EDSA 1 was the result of peoples clamor for CHANGE, the moral crusade that we are fighting for and ignited more since August 21, 1983. The Enrile et. al. maybe already pulburized by Gen.Tadiar’s Cannon thru Gen. Ver had people not go to EDSA that night. Therefore Enrile & Co. martial law is impossible to happen. EDSA 1 is Peoples Power and we ended it.

It was true that the people were looking for change but after Ninoy’s death the Filipino people lost a strong leader. It was very sad that while Ninoy died for the Filipino people; the people were not ready to die for Ninoy. That is why, even when Marcos was very ill, the people did not dare go to Malacanang and seek for the CHANGE they wanted.
When Enrile & Co. failed in their power grab and, as they were cornered, spun it off as an attempt to topple the Marcos regime, many believed the coup plotters’ story. While others used it to ignite the mass movement against the dictator and, overnight, Enrile & Co. became heroes and the people then were ready to DIE for them.
Today, Enrile claimed that the people ignored to give proper credits to soldiers that defended him and the camp; but Enrile himself never expressed his gratitude to the people that saved their lives.
EDSA I was a political tragedy turned comedy by a Moral Crusade?

Jun Lozada for President is a disgrace,a robber,no morals a hero declared by Roxas but a robber and he only come out because he was a victim of unequal sharing of corruption money.he mean thAt he steal money from the coppers of our country, and do some overpricing.etc.What moral standard that he possess.nothing what right does he possess to lead our country nothing.if that is our mentality lets put all the corrupt and robbers and make all of them hero because they were supporte by the immoral church as well that lead our nation in shambles.

Yesterday, I filed a Complaint Affidavit against the Chief City Treasurer of Quezon City for committing the crime of “Usurpation of Authority” which if convicted can bring him to prison for a long time.
What is did is to issue a mere MEMORADUM instructing his different collecting agencies to raise the Gross Income of Businesses (in the middle of a harsh economic downturn), as the basis for higher Quezon City mayor’s Permit.
He issued the MEMORANDUM dated December 19, 2009 and to take effect (immidiately) on January 2, 2009.
He practically override the function of the Quezon City Councilors who are suppose to propose a resolution to that effect, then discuss the pros and con, then vote on it. Pubic consultation is also a requirement, particularly those that will be affected. Once it is approve, it has to be posted infront of the Quezon City Hall and also to publish it to the MAJOR NEWSPAPERS. If there are no objection from the public after a few days, it automatically becames a City Ordinance.
Then and there, the Increase of Gross Income on Businesses becames executory.
All these were disregarded by Mr. Victor B. Endriga, Quezon City Chief City Treasurer and he now has committed the crime of “Usurpation of Authority.”
Unfortunately, after I submitted my Complaint Affidavit, the receiving clerk made a casual comment. He smiled and said that Victor Endriga has files after files of complaint against him, ever since he was at the City Treasurers office of Pasig City.
What this shows is that the Office of the Ombudsman has been notorious for inefficiency, partiality, and a lame duck agency of our government.
The budget allocated to this agency, billions and billions of pesos (which should have made it an effective agency) has gone wasted.
As I left the Office of the Ombudsman, I feel constrain to lodges another complaint, this time against Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., Quezon City Mayor, and the entire Quezon City Councilors for laxity and “Dereliction of Duty.” The whole Quezon City Council was caught with their pants down.
It seems that our government has become a “headless turkey” or we are at middle of anarchy.
No one respects the law anymore!

jun lozada has done his part, and he was quite good with what he did. thank you jun. too bad that those he implicated were just too powerful to be brought down. everyone is scot free, while politicians gained pogi points and increased citizens awareness levels about their names, faces, and personality package.
the presidency is too much for a man like lozada . we shouldn’t be THAT grateful in the same way we made a hero out of a gambling lord because he whistled well against a former friend.
but yes, we do need a presidential candidate whose reputation is untainted. but then again, that would depend on what editors decide to publish.
victor manalac
edsa was not a planned thing. it was something spontaneous, ignited first by a small group that holed in for safety after finding out that marcos was after them. and then they called the cardinal - who in turn summoned the people to provide a human wall around the group. and one after another, the people’s desire for change coalesced with the more adventurous spirits of those inside, mainly by the force of honasan and the ram. and then came cory. someone, i think, was disappointed in missing the presidency.
gratitude belongs therefore to no one in particular but only to the all the people as one. individually, or in small groups, non could have won against marcos. but together the revolution succeeded.

I praise Jun Lozada for standing up for what he believed in and I support him. But for presidency, that’s another story. Haven’t we learned yet from the past when we voted for somebody because she supposedly saved us? (EDSA 2). But I would like to disagree that morality is not necessary. No. In this time especially this time, we need a MORAL person who is God-fearing and yes quick and wise to act. we should never let go of our morals. DUterte of Davao is allegedly behind Davao Death Squad. If that’s true then he’s immoral but DDS is doing good in fighting crimes in davao. but do we want our country to the christian immoral nation of south east asia? I vote for Moral (not perfect) and quick to act president to be.

i Do not know how this works but i cant help but see the article on the “Employer tuned into a thief” — might just be really the truth. I hope investigations will be done. And Lets let the real culprit reveal himself — or should I say herself. I simply doubt the fact that it is the stupid maid who did it. For someone like that Employer to call her maid and leave her cabinet so easily accessible??? get a grip RJ. It is simply difficult to pay for wedding esp if your soon to be wife will make it seem like she was just robbed.
